About Aeonium Bronze Medal Variegated
Aeonium Bronze Medal Variegated is a variegated cultivar of Aeonium Bronze Medal. As a member of the Aeonium genus, it features typical waxy leaves, rosette formations, and intricate leaf patterns and colors. Overall, Aeonium Bronze Medal Variegated exhibits a greenish hue with a prominent brown streak down the center of its leaves and yellow striped margins. Under stress, the leaf edges turn reddish-brown, sometimes with red spots. Like some Aeonium species, its stems grow upwards, eventually lignifying into a tree-like structure with numerous branching stems. Mature plants bloom with yellow flowers in spring.
How to care for Aeonium Bronze Medal Variegated
Sunlight: Aeonium Bronze Medal Variegated can thrive in direct and indirect sunlight, making it suitable for indoor windowsills or outdoor planting. However, it dislikes excessive heat and intense sunlight during summer, entering dormancy during this period. Provide shade to help them through.
Temperature: The ideal temperature for Aeonium succulents ranges from 65-75°F (18-24°C), particularly during winter to spring, when they grow best in comfortable conditions. When temperatures drop below 30°F, moving them to a warmer location is advisable to prevent frost damage.
Watering: Except for summer, follow the soak and dry method for watering. Aeoniums typically do not actively take up water during the summer dormancy period. Aeonium Bronze Medal Variegated tends to conserve moisture by curling its leaves inward, reducing water loss. Therefore, minimal watering is required during summer.
Soil and Pot: As long as it is well-draining, aeoniums are not particularly picky about soil. Professional succulent mix or using coconut coir as soil works well for them.
Propagation: Aeoniums are challenging to propagate from leaves, so stem cuttings are recommended. Take cuttings from branches for propagation, allow them to dry, then plant them in soil.
