How to care for Echeveria Ziwei/Shuting
Sun/Temperature: Echeveria Ziwei/Shuting thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. It prefers at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight per day. If cultivated indoors, position them close to a sunny window to ensure they receive abundant indirect light. Outdoors provide them with partial to full sun, especially in the morning and late afternoon. Echeveria Ziwei/Shuting prefers moderate to warm temperatures. They are generally not cold-hardy and should be protected from frost and freezing temperatures. The ideal temperature range for most Echeverias is between 65°F to 80°F. For specific maintenance, please refer to Echeveria 'Black Crystal'/Echeveria 'Amethyst', which is similar and related.
Watering/Soil: In the spring and autumn, Echeveria Ziwei/Shuting can be watered thoroughly, ensuring that the soil in the pot dries out entirely before the next watering. Caring for E. Ziwei/Shuting during the summer is not difficult, but it requires attention to specific aspects. It is essential to provide adequate shading and ventilation on hot summer days and be cautious with watering. Avoid creating a humid environment and prevent water from accumulating in the leaf rosettes. When planting, opt for a loose and breathable soil mix, like a combination of peat or coconut peat and granular soil in a ratio of approximately 55%, to ensure the best growing conditions.
Propagation: It is highly recommended to use the leaves for propagation since it has chubby and thick leaves. Choose the chubby and healthy leaves to propagate it is necessary.
