Graptosedum 'Miul' is an interspecific hybrid succulent belonging to the Crassulaceae family, renowned for its sculptural foliage and adaptive growth habit. This cultivar forms dense, symmetrical rosettes composed of fleshy, paddle-shaped leaves exhibiting a soft bluish-green base tone. Under optimal light exposure, the leaf margins and tips develop a delicate apricot-pink blush, creating a striking bicolor effect. Mature specimens produce slender inflorescences in late spring to early summer, bearing small, stellate flowers in pale yellow to cream hues. Its compact size and visually dynamic coloration make it a versatile choice for both novice and experienced collectors.

How to Care for Graptosedum 'Miul'

Light: Graptosedum 'Miul' requires abundant bright, direct sunlight for 4-6 hours daily to maintain compact growth and vibrant coloration. An east or south-facing windowsill provides ideal exposure indoors, while partial afternoon shade is advisable in regions with intense summer heat (USDA zones 10-11) to prevent leaf scorch.

Water: Thorough but infrequent watering is essential, allowing the soil to dry completely between applications. During active growth (spring-fall), deep watering every 10-14 days is typically sufficient. Reduce frequency to monthly in winter dormancy. Always avoid water accumulation in the rosette core to mitigate rot risks.

Temperature: This hybrid thrives in temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C-27°C). It exhibits moderate cold tolerance down to 40°F (4°C) briefly but requires protection from frost. Prolonged exposure above 90°F (32°C) necessitates enhanced airflow and reduced direct sun exposure.

Soil & Potting: A well-draining mineral substrate is critical. Utilize a cactus/succulent mix amended with 40-50% perlite or pumice. Select containers 1-2 inches wider than the rosette diameter, preferably unglazed terracotta pots with drainage holes to promote evaporation. Light-colored pots further mitigate root zone heat accumulation.

Fertilizer: Apply a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to 50% strength (e.g., 5-10-5 NPK) every 6-8 weeks during the growing season. Discontinue feeding from late fall through winter to align with natural dormancy cycles.

Pests & Disease: Graptosedum 'Miul' demonstrates good resistance to pests but may occasionally attract mealybugs or aphids. Early infestations respond to neem oil applications. Root rot from overwatering represents the primary disease concern, preventable through strict adherence to dry-down cycles and porous soil composition.

Propagation: Leaf propagation yields the highest success rates. Gently detach healthy lower leaves, allow callusing for 2-3 days, then place on dry substrate. Mist lightly after 10 days once initial roots emerge. Rosette division is feasible for mature, clustered specimens during repotting.

In general, it takes 3 to 10 days for plants to arrive after you place your order. All orders will be shipped out 48 hours after you place them. We ship the orders on work days(from Monday to Saturday) and all year round. In normal conditions, it will take 3-10 days for you to receive the package. Estimated shipping times are offered as needed.

HOLIDAYS: During weeks in which a holiday occurs - Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc. - shipping may be delayed until the following week.

EXTREME WEATHER NOTICE: The Next Gardener reserves the right to hold shipments during storms or periods of extreme heat or cold. This is to ensure your plant does not suffer while it is in transit.

Winter shipping

We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.

Fortunately, shipping is available to Alaska, Guam, and other U.S. Territories. However, due to numerous factors beyond our control, including customs checks and shipping delays, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And we can not provide the 14-day quality guarantee for orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. We appreciate your understanding.
