About Greenovia Mona Lisa
Greenovia Mona Lisa is a medium-sized rosette-shaped succulent plant in the Sedum family. The leaves are thin and the leaves fit tightly together. The entire rosette is like a rose, and grow lateral buds. Usually glossy, densely packed around the stem and covering most of the lower surface of the leaves. The leaves range in color from bright green to blue-green to light pink, depending on sun exposure and variety. The mother plant is prone to large offsets, but unfortunately, it often dies after flowering because it is monocarpic.
Here's how to care for Greenovia Mona Lisa:
Light/Location: It thrives best outdoors in a well-ventilated area with ample sunlight. However, it's advisable to place it in a spot that avoids excessive exposure. Ideally, they should be shaded during the hottest part of the day. Place the pot in morning sunlight rather than during midday or afternoon. This plant can also grow indoors or under artificial light.
Soil: It thrives in well-draining soil mixtures. Avoid adding any elements that may hinder water evaporation or trap excess moisture. This means coconut peat, coconut husk, peat moss, and other soil amendments should not be used. Additionally, Greenovia Mona Lisa prefers dry soil, so the more porous the mixture, the better.
Watering: It appreciates generous watering throughout its growing period. If the plant is in a well-ventilated outdoor area, you can thoroughly soak the soil during each watering session. Make sure the soil is thoroughly dry prior to the next watering session. During winter, soil moisture evaporation rates may decrease, necessitating a reduction in watering frequency.
Propagation: Generally, separate Greenovia offsets from the mother plant using a sharp, sterilized knife or pruning shears. You may need to uproot the entire pot beforehand to clearly see the root structure and stems. Ideally, offsets will have their own young root systems, so try to keep these intact.
