About Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata

Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata is the variegata of x Sedeveria 'Rolly,' whose stem and foliage color would turn yellow or white when affected by external factors. The plump and lush round ovate- or heart-shaped green to yellowish foliage tipped with blunt apex form the compact rosette, prone to grow dense branches to the cluster. The blade is not uneven and concaves inward. This cutie is like a delicate miniature peony.

How to care for Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata

Sun/Location: Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata 's maintenance can be referred to x Sedeveria 'Rolly.' Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata prefers full sun to partial shade in spring and autumn for at least 4-6 hours to develop its compact rosette. Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata would be over-long and leggy stems without sufficient sunlight. A shade curtain is essential in scorching summers to avoid being sunburnt—Wrap Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata in a hessian blanket to protect from frost.

Soil/Pot: Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata prefers loose and breathable potting soil with sufficient nutrients. Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata is prone to burst the pot, requiring a comparatively large planter to develop. In the seedling stage, Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata requires 50% granular soil, while growing cluster and succulent trees need at least 70% coarse soil to form the optimal shape. Repot in warm spring to upgrade the porosity. Tug off these dry and dead leaves from the bottom to prevent fungal diseases.

Watering: Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata is drought-tolerant. It requires water occasionally and sparingly. There exists abundant water storage in the plum and lush leaves, reducing watering demand. The soak-and-dry method is generally applied when the potting soil is bone dry. The immersive watering method is also recommendable if placed in a ventilated and breathable location. Be careful to water along the edge of the pot to the potting soil instead of the rosette and foliage, preventing waterlogging, bacteria, and fungal diseases.

Propagation: Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata is prone to generate dense offsets, which can be placed in a ventilated place when grown well. The leaf-inserting method takes the flesh leaf, puts it in the shade to dry the wound, and then sets it on the slightly wet soil. It will slowly grow roots and germinate.

Humidity: Keeping the air humidity at 40%-60% is an ideal environment for the growth of succulent plants. Echeveria 'Rolly' Variegata prefers a cool climate, avoiding a sultry and humid environment. Pay attention to shelter in the rainy seasons.

Pest Control: It would not be well-ventilated indoors in winter with insufficient sunshine, resulting in succulents being prone to get sick from the pests. The temperature rises in spring, which is conducive to pest eggs hatching. Therefore, when the temperature is significantly warmer, some particulate pesticides should be embedded in the soil. Isolate the plants with bugs from other healthy plants to prevent the spread of pests when affected. Disinfect the new potting soil at a high temperature when repotting, which kills the eggs and insect pests efficiently.

Winter shipping

We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.

Please note that The Next Gardener is not responsible for packages that suffer cold damage without a heat pack. We cannot control the weather. Order at your own risk.

Hawaii, Alaska, and Other US Territories

Fortunately, shipping is available to Alaska, Guam, and other U.S. Territories. However, due to numerous factors beyond our control, including customs checks and shipping delays, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And we can not provide the 14-day quality guarantee for orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. We appreciate your understanding.

Problem with shipping

In February 2024 I purchased about 6 of these beautiful succulents along with a few others from this website. I however filled in the wrong address and as a result the plants were never delivered but sent back to the next gardener.
I know this was my fault but after a couple emails with them they decided to replace my full order on my next purchase. Honestly I would’ve been happy if they sent the dead plants so that I could salvage what remained but instead I got amazing customer service, empathetic arrangements and swift replies. Honestly the best company to order succulents online from.
Thank you again
