Callisia repens, also known as Turtle Vine, Bolivian Jew, or Creeping Inch Plant. Creeping leaves and beautiful flowering buds are produced as they grow. Their leaves are covered with fine, soft hairs, dark green above and dark purple below. If conditions permit, it can grow long and dense enough.
Sun/Location: Callisia repens, indirect and bright sunlight is where it likes to grow. Great for placing next to a sunny window covered with sheer curtains or hanging on a balcony with indirect lighting. If planting outdoors, avoid intense sunlight. Then, when summer comes, it will have white flowers that are small and tasteless. Click here to learn how to care for succulent in summer.
Soil/Pot: Callisia repens likes well-drained succulent soil and also provides some organic food. Root rot can be avoided if the soil composition is correct. To make it drain well, add perlite. Peat also helps retain the right amount of water while draining well. You can buy organic soil and perlite in our store for better growth.
Watering: Callisia repens, it likes to grow in moist conditions and grows quickly in cactus soil mix and full sun, so water it regularly to keep the soil moist. If you can, keep it outdoors through warm spring and early summer. Then, when winter comes, please remember to bring it indoors and reduce watering because it cannot tolerate frost. In general, it takes 3 to 10 days for plants to arrive after you place your order. All orders will be shipped out 48 hours after you place them. We ship the orders on work days(from Monday to Saturday) and all year round. In normal conditions, it will take 3-10 days for you to receive the package. Estimated shipping times are offered as needed.
HOLIDAYS: During weeks in which a holiday occurs - Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc. - shipping may be delayed until the following week.
EXTREME WEATHER NOTICE: The Next Gardener reserves the right to hold shipments during storms or periods of extreme heat or cold. This is to ensure your plant does not suffer while it is in transit.
Winter shipping
We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.
Please note that The Next Gardener is not responsible for packages that suffer cold damage without a heat pack. We cannot control the weather. Order at your own risk.
Hawaii, Alaska, and Other US Territories
Unfortunately, shipping is not available to Alaska, Guam, and other U.S. Territories. The transit time is too long, and the plants would be dead on arrival.
Due to numerous factors beyond our control, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And, we can no longer guarantee orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico that get delayed by more than 4 in-transit days. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. Thank you for your understanding.
Sorry. No International Shipping for now!!!
