About Echeveria Arze
Echeveria 'Arze' is a type of succulent plant that belongs to the Echeveria genus in the Crassulaceae family. It is a hybrid plant that is a cross between Echeveria Arje and Echeveria 'Robin'. The plant has greenish-yellow leaves with small red speckles. The leaves are thick, long, oval, and semicircular, with a pointed tip and a short leaf tip, forming a beautiful rose-like shape. The plant is smooth and not covered with farina. Due to having half of the genes of Echeveria Arje, it is very similar to it, and can easily be mistaken for it. When exposed to sufficient light and a large temperature difference between day and night, the leaves of the plant will become red.
How do we identify Echeveria Arze and Echeveria Arje?
Color: Echeveria 'Arze' plant has pale green leaves that can turn completely red like the Echeveria 'Robin' when exposed to enough light and experience a significant temperature difference.
Leaf shape: Similar to the Echeveria 'Robin', Echeveria 'Arze' has leaves that gradually narrow near the tip, while the Echeveria Arje's leaves narrow about two-thirds of the way, which makes its leaves look very sharp.
How to care for Echeveria Arze
Soil: We can use soil with a lower particle ratio when mixing soil, such as 40% gritty rocks plus 60% peat soil. It is an excellent choice to choose medical and volcanic stones for particles. When the succulent is in a hot and humid area, the content of particles can also be appropriately increased, so that the succulent will not be stuffy.
Water: The rooting speed of Echeveria Arze is moderate to slow, so watering is very important for the first month after putting it in the pot. At this stage, we must be diligent and keep the potting soil relatively moist. At the beginning of watering, we should give a circle of water around the root system. After a week, we can expand the watering range, and the watering amount is about half of the wet pot soil. After half a month, we can consider watering thoroughly. At this point, Echeveria Arze will have root systems. If watered thoroughly, their roots can be deeply rooted. We slowly increase the watering interval when we see signs of growth with the naked eye. After six months, we can start controlling water. When the bottom of the leaves becomes soft or consumed, we can water them again.
Temperature/Sun: If the temperature is slightly higher in summer, it is easy to sunburn the leaves if they are not shaded and maintained. In severe cases, the leaves may fall out directly. Therefore, when the temperature is above 86°F in summer, we can consider moving live succulents to a place with indirect sunlight to avoid sunburn. Propagation: it can be propagated easily by separating pups. First, locate plants that have produced pups. Second, clean and disinfect your knife. Third, carefully remove the pups from the mother plant. Fourth, plant the pups in a suitable location. Fifth, water the newly planted pups occasionally. Notes: Choose healthy pups; the pups should be kept in a cool and well-ventilated area so that their wounds can form scabs over the course of 2-3 days before they are planted.; water only after the soil has dried. Other tips: If Echeveria Arze has been indoors for a while, they need to avoid sudden exposure to the bright sun when they go outside, or their leaves might get scorched. Many times when the light is too strong, their leaves become a bit dark. Many enthusiasts think it's due to Sooty mold and use fertilizer indiscriminately. In fact, this variety is not very susceptible to diseases and pests; overall, it is very worry-free.
