About Echeveria 'Sara Himebotan'sp.02

Echeveria 'Sara Himebotan' is a hybrid variety belonging to the Crassulaceae family. One of its parent species is Echeveria 'Sara Himebotan'. Its leaves are small, short, and densely arranged, forming a tight rosette shape. In its non-thrive state, the leaves are a dull green color with red edges, and the surface is covered with farina. However, when it thrive, the entire plant turns a dark purple color, with the tips of the leaves becoming black.

How to care for Echeveria 'Sara Himebotan'sp.02

Sun/Temperature: This plant enjoys bright sunlight but should avoid intense sunlight, especially during hot summers. Partial shade is beneficial. Its temperature preference is between 65°F and 75°F . It has a good tolerance for higher temperatures but should avoid exposure to temperatures below 40°F to prevent frost damage.

Soil/Watering: Use well-draining succulent-specific soil, and you can enhance drainage by adding materials like perlite or pumice to regular succulent soil. Organic matter like leaf mold or compost can be added for additional nutrients. Water thoroughly only when the soil is arid, and ensure sufficient time between watering to allow the soil to dry out completely, particularly during hot summers.

Pot: Use pots with drainage holes made of stone or clay to ensure proper drainage and prevent root rot.

Diseases and Pests: Common diseases include root and leaf rot, often caused by overwatering or high humidity. For root rot, trim affected parts and move the plant to a dry, well-ventilated area. For severe cases of leaf rot, fungicides like sulfur can be used to treat affected leaves.

Propagation: Echeveria 'Sara Himebotan'sp. 02 can be propagated by leaf or offsets. Place the cuttings in a dry, well-ventilated area until the cut ends the callus and new roots develop.

Fertilization: This plant requires moderate fertilization during the growing season (spring and summer). You can use diluted succulent-specific fertilizer, which is applied monthly.

In general, it takes 3 to 10 days for plants to arrive after you place your order. All orders will be shipped out 48 hours after you place them. We ship the orders on work days(from Monday to Saturday) and all year round. In normal conditions, it will take 3-10 days for you to receive the package. Estimated shipping times are offered as needed.

HOLIDAYS: During weeks in which a holiday occurs - Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc. - shipping may be delayed until the following week.

EXTREME WEATHER NOTICE: The Next Gardener reserves the right to hold shipments during storms or periods of extreme heat or cold. This is to ensure your plant does not suffer while it is in transit.

Winter shipping

We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.

Please note that The Next Gardener is not responsible for packages that suffer cold damage without a heat pack. We cannot control the weather. Order at your own risk.

Hawaii, Alaska, and Other US Territories

Fortunately, shipping is available to Alaska, Guam, and other U.S. Territories. However, due to numerous factors beyond our control, including customs checks and shipping delays, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And we can not provide the 14-day quality guarantee for orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. We appreciate your understanding.
