About the Horticultural Grade Plantation Vermiculite 3-6MM
High-Quality Natural Soil Mix: Vermiculite is a natural mineral material known for its cleanliness, odorlessness, non-toxicity, sterility, and pH-neutral properties. You can confidently add it to soil. This premium natural material is highly durable, compared to ordinary perlite, it is less prone to mold and rot.
Promotes Succulent Root Growth: Vermiculite has exceptional water retention capabilities, absorbing up to three times its volume in water. When the soil of succulent pots dries out, it releases stored moisture, maintaining soil moisture and promoting root growth.
Soil Conditioner: Vermiculite can also be used to improve soil structure, increase soil porosity, and prevent soil clumping. Rich in micronutrients, organic vermiculite contains potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and trace elements like manganese, copper, and zinc, providing nutrition to plants while also regulating acidic soil to neutral levels, meeting the needs of succulents for neutral soil.
Suitable for Various Horticultural Purposes: Vermiculite can be added to soil not only to retain water and improve soil quality but also for succulent propagation and hydroponics. As a highly water-retentive material, vermiculite is also suitable for seeding.
How to Use Vermiculite
Blend with Succulent Potting Soil: Mix approximately 5% vermiculite into succulent potting soil to enhance water retention.
Direct Seeding or Propagation with Vermiculite: Seeds or cuttings, including succulents, can be directly sown or propagated in vermiculite instead of soil to aid germination. Place seeds or cuttings in a container filled with vermiculite, water, and wait for germination. Vermiculite is also commonly used for leaf propagation and rootless stem cutting propagation, with succulents rooting faster in this moisture-retentive medium.
