Caring for Your Succulent Arrangement
Watering: The 7.6" Round Succulent Arrangement Table Décor comes with drainage holes at the bottom. If you have densely arranged succulents, we recommend periodically watering from the bottom to replenish moisture. Before watering, use a toothpick to check the soil's moisture at the center and edges of the succulent arrangement. When the soil is completely dry, place the arrangement over a container of water (ensure the water level doesn't submerge the arrangement). After about 30 minutes, remove it when the surface soil is moist, allowing excess water to drain. For looser arrangements, use a squeeze bottle to water near the base of the succulents for 2-3 rounds, ensuring all plants receive hydration.
Lighting: All succulent plants require light to maintain their shape and color. It is recommended to place the succulent arrangement on a bright tabletop with diffused light, preferably with indirect sunlight. However, these light conditions may not be sufficient to preserve the color of the succulents. For optimal color maintenance, it is advisable to periodically expose them to direct sunlight outdoors for about a week (avoid doing so in summer and winter). If you are concerned about an empty tabletop, we suggest creating two succulent arrangements for rotation.
Temperature: Most succulents can tolerate temperatures between 40-95°F. During winter, it's best to bring outdoor succulent arrangements indoors.
Pruning: The key to keeping your succulent arrangement in perfect shape is regular trimming and replacement of plants. Trimming involves removing dried leaves from the base of the succulents and beheading elongated ones to maintain the plant's shape. If some succulents are beyond recovery, replace them with new ones. When the succulent arrangement becomes too crowded, you can also remove some plants and place them in separate pots.
Creating Your Succulent Arrangement
Step 1: Fill the round concrete planter with a well-draining gritty soil mix.
Step 2: Plant the succulents starting from the edge of the planter, allowing the first layer of succulent plugs to lie against the bowl's side until the first circle is complete.
Step 3: Fill soil in the center, then place the second layer of succulents, ensuring they are slightly inward to secure them in place.
Step 4: Continue filling soil and placing succulents. After completing the third layer, your succulent arrangement resembling an elevated mound is finished.
Step 5: Use a brush or tool to clean dust and soil from the plant surfaces. Succulent arrangement – complete!
