About Echeveria 'Dark Queen'
Echeveria' Dark Queen' is a succulent of the genus Echeveria in the Crassulaceae family. Its leaves are thick and long ovate, the leaf surface is flat or slightly concave, the reverse side of the leaf has a curved and bulging shape, the tip is sharply pointed, there are short leaf tips, the plant type is standard rosette-shaped, the whole plant is smooth, not covered with farina, but it has waxy surface that prevents them from losing water due to evaporation in warm climates. Usually, the leaf color is green; in an environment of sufficient light and large temperature difference, the color of the leaf will gradually darken from a black-red at the front to a deeper shade towards the center.
How to care for Echeveria 'Dark Queen'
Sun/Temperature: Echeveria 'Dark Queen' thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Place it near a window where it can receive at least 4 to 6 hours of indirect sunlight each day. In hot summer months, protect it from intense, direct sunlight. If growing indoors, choose a south-facing window for optimal light exposure. Echeveria 'Dark Queen' prefers moderate temperatures ranging between 65°F and 75°F. It can tolerate higher temperatures but may require some shade during hot summer days. Protect the soft succulent from frost and freezing temperatures, as it is not cold hardy.
Soil/Pot: Well-draining soil is crucial for the health of Echeveria 'Dark Queen.' Use a commercial succulent potting mix or create your own by combining regular potting soil with perlite or coarse sand to improve drainage. Avoid heavy or clayey soils that retain moisture for too long. Pay attention to use a planter pot with the drainage hole.
Watering: Like most succulents, Echeveria 'Dark Queen' has low water requirements. Water the plant thoroughly but infrequently. Please Allow the cactus soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent overwatering, which can lead to root rot. During winter, reduce watering frequency further, as the plant goes into a dormant period. Click here to learn how often to water succulent.

Winter shipping
We insist on shipping succulents to our customers all year round. However due to the extreme winter weather, although we pack succulents with as much protective material as possible, plants are still at increased risk of frost on their way to colder areas. We highly recommend adding one 72-hour heat pack to your order or you can request a hold on the package until it warms up.
Please note that The Next Gardener is not responsible for packages that suffer cold damage without a heat pack. We cannot control the weather. Order at your own risk.

However, due to numerous factors beyond our control, including customs checks and shipping delays, free shipping to Hawaii and Puerto Rico is not an option. And we can not provide the 14-day quality guarantee for orders going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The buyer will assume all risk of damage when a delivery is delayed. We appreciate your understanding.
